MODSQUAD Rookie catcher Kyle Bobek turned 26 yesterday, moments after collecting his 13th career hit and driving in one of the Modsquad's 17 runs.

The event was marked by Modsquad Superfan and Bobek girlfriend, Beth, baking cupcakes to add to the post game spread of Funyuns, Doritos, Cheetos, and of course, the team's reward for a game well won; milk and cookies.

Modsquad shortstop Nick Difranza took advantage of the situation, in attempts to continue his attempts to reinstate rookie hazing practices. Difranza made Bobek open his present from Beth, and led the team in a off key half-assed excuse for a "Happy Birthday Song".

Bobek, with poise and ninja like restraint, opened the trunk of Beth's car, revealing a box wrapped in green shinny paper. For those interested in this sort of thing, yes, there was a bow on top.

Bobek unhinged the tape attached to the wrapping paper to reveal his present; a brand new XBOX 360. When confronted by this Modsquad reporter for comment, Bobek said; "Well, goodnight everybody! I'm off to Gamestop and then heading home!".

Only one photo could detail the joy and pure bliss of the evening, as Modsquad photographer was caught with her choppers in one of Beth's homemade cupcakes.

Special thank you to Beth for bringing sugar to the after game celebration; Kristen is still officially on a sugar high, with the sugar crash expected to come within the next week or so.

  1. #7 Said,

The post-mortum milk and cookies is why we play softball, right. and now we're expanding into chips and cupcakes... next step is to bring out the grill, Brownie's hellfire jamaican wings and a DJ
